Alloy Wheels

An alloy of light metals, such as aluminium, nickel, magnesium, or a mixture of these metals, is used to make alloy wheels. Because they are frequently several pounds lighter per wheel—less weight translates into faster acceleration and stopping—they provide performance advantages over steel wheels. Additionally, lighter weight reduces the strain on suspension parts. Compared to steel wheels, alloy wheels are more effective in dissipating heat away from brake components during harsh driving conditions.
